Smart Card Alliance 2011 ConferenceThe Smart Card Alliance has announced keynote speakers and session topics for this year’s annual conference, which brings smart card practitioners and end-users together with developers and suppliers.

Here is a sneak preview of the speakers and topics:


  • Accelerating Adoption of Advanced Payment Technology to Enhance the Payment Process, Richard Oliver, Executive Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
  • Should The US Follow The Existing Path or Forge a New Path To EMV?, Dave Birch, Director, Consult Hyperion
  • EMV Global Deployment Reality, Dr. Toni Merschen, Consultant (Former Group Head, Chip, MasterCard International)
  • The United Nations Federal Credit Union International Traveler Credit Card, Merrill Halpern, Assistant Vice President Card Services, United Nations Federal Credit Union

The theme for the conference, “Roadmap to EMV Payments and Secure ID,” will focus on issuers and users of smart card technology in payments, security and mobile markets, with added emphasis during payment sessions on EMV.

This year’s SCA Annual Conference takes place on May 2 – 5 in Chicago at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
